Which Willow breast pump is right for you?

Pick by how much you move while you pump, and whether you’d rather use bags or cups.

Willow 360
For pumping while you bend, lift or lie on the couch. It pumps into sealed Spill-Proof Milk Bags, 24 in the box, or reusable cups sold separately. Smart Suction switches from stimulation to expression on its own, and sensors send your milk volume to the Willow app on your phone or Apple Watch.
Willow Go
For busy upright days at a desk, in the car or on errands. The flange fits straight into a hard 5 oz cup, so you pump, pour into a bottle and skip the bags. Willow sells 7 oz cups for moms who make more, and rates the Go at up to 8 sessions a charge.

Questions moms ask about Willow breast pumps

Is a Willow breast pump covered by insurance?

On most plans, yes, with an upgrade fee. Your plan pays its share of a Willow and you pay the rest as an upgrade fee, and not every plan offers both models. Start your order and pick your state and plan to see each pump you qualify for, with the fee for each Willow, before you pay anything.

Which pumps have no upgrade fee on most plans?

The Zomee Z2, Zomee Fit, Zomee W1, Lansinoh DiscreetDuo Flow and Ameda Mya Joy Basic are covered in full on the plans we work with. If you want a wearable like a Willow with no fee, the Zomee Fit, Zomee W1 and Lansinoh DiscreetDuo Flow all sit in your bra.

Which Willow breast pump is best?

The one that fits how you move. If you pump while bending, lifting or lying down, the Willow 360 with its sealed bags is the one Willow rates leak-proof in any position. If you pump mostly sitting or standing and want to skip bags, the Willow Go pours from reusable cups, holds more and runs longer per charge.

What’s the difference between the Willow 360 and Willow Go?

Both fit fully in your bra and work with the Willow app. The Willow 360 uses sealed bags or cups that hold 4 oz a side, tracks your volume live with sensors, and works from an Apple Watch. The Willow Go uses reusable cups, 5 oz in the box and 7 oz sold separately, has the higher maximum suction and up to 8 sessions a charge, and you enter your volume in the app yourself. Their parts don’t fit each other.

Is the Willow 360 the same as the Willow 3.0?

Yes. Willow renamed the Willow 3.0 the Willow 360 and added 360 Care, a 1:1 video session with a Willow coach to help you get started and find your flange size.

How strong is Willow suction?

Up to 295 mmHg across 15 levels on the Willow Go, and up to 245 mmHg across 7 levels on the Willow 360, Willow says. For comparison, Spectra rates the S1 and S2 at 270 mmHg. Compare maximums only; a higher number does not mean a pump empties better, and we don’t call any Willow hospital grade.

Can I pump lying down with a Willow?

With the Willow 360, yes: Willow says its sealed bags stay leak-proof in any position, from bending over to lying down, and its reusable cups are leak-proof up to 180°. The Willow Go is leak-proof up to 45°, and Willow’s manual says not to use it lying down, so keep your upper body upright.

How long does a Willow battery last?

Up to 8 sessions per charge on the Willow Go, which charges in about 2 hours from a USB charger, Willow says. The Willow 360 runs up to 5 sessions per charge; Willow says to use only its own charger. The Go won’t run while it’s plugged in, so charge between sessions.

What warranty do Willow pumps have?

Willow covers the pump for 12 months and the parts for 90 days on both the Willow 360 and Willow Go. Willow says to replace pump parts about every 90 days.

Do I need a prescription to get a Willow through insurance?

Yes, insurance requires one, but you don’t need it in hand to order. Give us your doctor’s details and we request the prescription for you. Most plans let your pump ship about 30 days before your due date.

Get your Willow through insurance

Tell us your plan and your doctor, and we do the rest: the coverage check, the prescription and the claim. You see the upgrade fee for your Willow before you order, next to any pumps your plan covers in full, and if your plan covers a different pump than the one you picked, we tell you before anything ships.
