Questions moms ask about Lansinoh breast pumps
Is a Lansinoh breast pump covered by insurance?
For most plans, yes. In our October 2026 check of 211 insurance plans, the Lansinoh DiscreetDuo Flow was $0 on every one. The Lansinoh Smartpump 3.0 is covered in full on some plans and carries an upgrade fee of up to $105 on many others. Start your order to see your own price before you pay anything.
Which Lansinoh breast pump is best?
The one that fits how you’ll pump. For work, errands and night feeds, the wearable DiscreetDuo Flow sits in your bra with no cords or tubes. For pumping at home or at a desk, the Smartpump 3.0 plugs in and tracks every session in its Bluetooth app.
Is the DiscreetDuo Flow the same as the original DiscreetDuo?
It’s the redesigned DiscreetDuo. Lansinoh gave the Flow a more contoured shape, a longer battery and a built-in night light, and kept the same suction, four modes and LED display. Parts for the original DiscreetDuo don’t fit the Flow, Lansinoh says.
How strong is Lansinoh suction?
Up to 280 mmHg across 9 levels on the DiscreetDuo Flow, Lansinoh says, slightly above the 270 mmHg the Spectra S1 and S2 list. Lansinoh doesn’t publish a maximum suction for the Smartpump 3.0, which has 8 levels and 3 modes.
Does Lansinoh make a wearable breast pump?
Yes, the DiscreetDuo Flow. It slips into your regular bra, so you don’t need a pumping bra, and each cup holds 6 oz. It comes with a 24 mm flange, inserts in 15, 17, 19 and 21 mm, and a nipple ruler.
How long does a Lansinoh battery last?
Lansinoh’s site says up to 200 minutes, about 5 sessions, per charge on the DiscreetDuo Flow, while its manual says about 150 minutes, so plan on somewhere in between. The Smartpump 3.0 plugs into the wall, with an optional battery pack for pumping away from an outlet.
Does the Lansinoh Smartpump 3.0 have an app?
Yes. The Smartpump 3.0 pairs with a Bluetooth app that tracks every session. The DiscreetDuo Flow has no app; it uses an LED display with a session timer and memory settings instead.
What warranty do Lansinoh pumps have?
Lansinoh covers both pumps for 1 year. On the DiscreetDuo Flow, that covers the pump hub, and the other parts are covered for 90 days. Lansinoh also offers a 1:1 session with one of its pump specialists.
Which pumps have no upgrade fee on most plans?
The Lansinoh DiscreetDuo Flow is one, $0 on every plan we checked. The Zomee Z2, Zomee Fit, Zomee W1 and Ameda Mya Joy Basic are covered in full on the plans we work with too. If your plan adds a fee for the Smartpump 3.0, the Zomee Z2 is a tabletop double pump with no fee on most plans.
Do I need a prescription to get a Lansinoh through insurance?
Yes, insurance requires one, but you don’t need it in hand to order. Give us your doctor’s details and we request the prescription for you. Most plans let your pump ship about 30 days before your due date.
