Why check your blood pressure at home during pregnancy?
High blood pressure conditions like preeclampsia and gestational hypertension usually show up after 20 weeks, and preeclampsia can also start after your baby is born. Readings taken at home, between appointments, give your care team more to go on.
After birth, ACOG advises a blood pressure check within 72 hours of going home and again at 7 to 10 days for moms who had high blood pressure in pregnancy. A monitor at home makes those checks easy. It doesn’t diagnose anything: your doctor tells you which numbers to call about.

Questions moms ask about home blood pressure monitors
Does insurance cover a blood pressure monitor during pregnancy?
Many plans cover a home blood pressure monitor for pregnancy or after birth, often when your doctor wants you checking at home. Start your order online and we check your coverage before anything ships.
Which cuff size do I need?
Measure around your bare upper arm, halfway between shoulder and elbow. Standard fits arms up to 16.5 inches (42 cm); XL fits 16.5 to 22 inches. If you land right on 16.5, call us and we’ll help you choose.
How do I take an accurate blood pressure reading at home?
1. Sit quietly for 5 minutes with your back supported and feet flat. 2. Rest your arm on a table at heart level. 3. Put the cuff on bare skin, its lower edge about an inch above the inside of your elbow. 4. Press Start and stay still and quiet until it finishes.
Why would my doctor want me to check my blood pressure at home?
High blood pressure in pregnancy, including preeclampsia, often has no symptoms at first, and it usually appears after 20 weeks. Home readings between visits help your care team spot a change sooner.
Can I keep using it after my baby is born?
Yes. Blood pressure can stay high or rise after birth, and preeclampsia can start postpartum. ACOG advises checks within 72 hours of going home and at 7 to 10 days for moms who had high blood pressure in pregnancy.
Can a home monitor tell me if I have preeclampsia?
No. It measures your blood pressure and pulse; it doesn’t diagnose preeclampsia or any other condition. Your doctor gives you the numbers and symptoms to call about.
Why an upper arm cuff and not a wrist monitor?
An upper arm cuff that fits your arm is what most doctors ask for at home, because wrist readings change more with how you hold your arm. That’s why we offer two cuff sizes.
What do the colors beside the screen mean?
The green, yellow and red bar shows where your reading falls on a standard blood pressure scale. It’s a quick guide, not a diagnosis.
Can my partner or family use it too?
Other adults can take readings on it. It isn’t made for children.
How long does it take to get my monitor?
We check your coverage first, then ship it to your door. Our team calls or emails if we need anything from you or your doctor’s office along the way.
How can I get a blood pressure monitor through insurance?
Many insurance plans cover a home blood pressure monitor for pregnancy and after birth, alongside maternity compression. Start your order and we’ll take it from there: we check your coverage, work with your doctor’s office, and ship your monitor right to your door.
